The message of resilience is often reduced to “try harder.” It also assumes that our baseline conditions are a state to which we should always return after recovering from whatever disruptions we are facing. We are trying to “bounce back” to the way things were before. A broader understanding of resilience invites us to recover but also to challenge and grow beyond our previous level of functioning.

Short days, cold weather, and packed schedules can take a toll on our mood and motivation. It’s unfortunately common to feel more tired, disconnected, or unmotivated while our workload remains high. In this interactive session, we’ll look at how seasonal changes impact well-being and functioning, and what you can do about it.

Participants will leave with realistic strategies to manage energy, sustain motivation, and lead yourselves effectively through the toughest months of the year. Virtual only, open to all graduate and professional students.
